Trying to restore Twrp with Linux PC. Stuck in download mode.

I flashed a rom last night, but it froze before it was complete. The problem is I flashed a firmware zip that included stock recovery. I'm now stuck in download mode or stock recovery. I have backups that I can restore, but I'm unable to get heimdall to restore twrp recovery.
The phone is detected. I found a Pit file KLTE_USA_VZW.Pit I did not check the repartition check box.

The error I receive is:
ERROR: Failed to send request to end PIT file transfer!
ERROR: Failed to download PIT file!
Ending session...
ERROR: Failed to send end session packet!

Help with newly aquired Thinkpad (I have no idea what I have)

So at work we had this extra old tablet no one wanted, and I was told I could have it... I tried to look for a FAQ or All-in-1 guide but it appears to have been deleted by the OP.

Problem is I don't even know what I have... Is it a K1 or Yoga or what? I am no slouch in the Android area, but this device is confusing, was hoping someone could guide me a little.

In About Tablet it says:

I have an old LG optimus black that I want to give someone but the problem is that I forgot the password of the unlock screen. I searched on the internet how to unlock it but they said there is no solution to unlock it because i don't have a pattern lock. Help for a laggy phone

What do you suggest to fix the lag in this phone? I updated my wife and daughter from a S3 to a S5, but honestly I can't say that this phone performs any quicker than the S3 did. I've rooted the phones and Titanium'd some bloatware but I'm still and ends for getting this phone to respond quickly to actions. Bringing up the camera is slow. Sometimes just getting it to respond to a touch takes several seconds.

I don't want to get anything quirky that my wife won't understand, but I'm frustrated watching her trying to get it to respond quicker. Should I be rebooting it daily? Is there something running that should be deleted? Should I just go to another firmware? Should I get another phone?

S7 Snapdragon on AT&T? International Exynos Ulocked? Help please!

Hi - several months ago I read a lot about choosing between Exynos (intnl through Best Buy) and Snapdragon/AT&T.

It seemed there were a few tradeoffs to consider.

First and foremost people said the Exynos performance and battery life were better, but then once the Exynos phones received a software update around May they started exhibiting the battery drain issue that seemed to be plaguing Snapdragon phones. So much so that numerous people were recommending flashing back to a previous update version to avoid the battery drain bug. Reading through the forums I havent been able to figure out whether these problems have been sorted out and corrected on either phone?

I also recall that the international version did not have ability to use Samsung Pay in the US? I cant understand based on the threads I have read whether this is now in fact possible?

I Have also read varying things on the data performance on AT&T networks of the international version. It seems people have concluded that certain functions may not work but that generally 4G LTE speeds and network reception should be the same.

Is this a good summary? I would love any thoughts or advice on deciding between these two models.

OnePlus 2 Error!

Hey I've installed Hydrogen OS On My OP2.
All Went Well The ROM worked Well, but the problem I'm facing is that, I can't boot into my TWRP Recovery.
When I press the button combination for recovery, The screen gets stuck showing the oneplus logo with powered by android.
As well as when i try to update the ROM via OTA, the same thing happens.
Any Help Please?
I want to get back to Oxygen OS!

Marshmallow ROM for Sony Xperia Z1C that works without major problems

Hi,

I have Sony Xperia Z1 Compact (D5503) and I would like to update it to Android 6. I found out that there is no official Android 6 upgrade for Z1C and that there is no official CyanogenMod 13 for his device either.

I found this thread with several ROMs and I would like to ask for help with choosing which of them to try flashing. Which of them are currently working smoothly and without troubles with camera, wifi, sim, etc.? Is there a ROM that is currently running without any known issues at all?

Since this will be my first experience with ROM flashing, I would also like to backup the current system, so that I can go back to the original Android 5 in case something goes wrong or the new ROM is not working correctly. Which tool would you recommend for this?

[QUESTION] Are There Any ROMs That Are Close To Stock That Come With Xposed?

Right now I am using the latest version of Booroondook's 5.1.1 ROM, however it does not come with Xposed. I know that Malaysk's ROM comes with Xposed pre-installed, but I am not very keen of how heavily skinned the ROM is and prefer a close to stock Android experience.

GameToolkit bugs!

...after updating to the 3.0.203 OTA the toolkit is broken, when launching it, black screen appears, and then nothing happens, no floating button as expected....it does not launch!
i have cleared/wiped data/cache and that solved nothing either...i downloaded the *.iso and made fresh install,but stilll faced with same issue, the toolkit is not running, its enabled in settings (feature that was removed since 3.0.102)
......
is this known or just a random occurrence?

Cant change the default Radio app for a modded one

Hi, I' ve asked at the MTCD sub-forum but I guess this is the correct place to ask about my problem. I've been using Malaysk ROM on my RK3066 since the first release and y changed the default radio app for others without problems. Now I've bought a RK3188 (MTCD JY) unit and I'm running Malaysk smoothly but when I try to change the radio app (going to /system/app/MTCRadio.... deleting the original one, replacing with the new I want to use and changing permissions to 644 rw-r-w and doing a reboot ) the unit doesn't show my modded radio app, instead it shows the default radio.... BTW The radio I want to use is a modded one called RED AUDI. I was able to use it on the stock ROM..... Any ideas?

[PROBLEM] CM13-Glitchy graphics and bluetooth turning on itself

Hi,
My phone is D405n model, I'm using latest cm13 snapshot (0820). But probably it doesn't matter.
For a few months my phone has some problem with graphics in Google Play. It's a strange issue, every image connected with google (is WiFi configuration screen in cm13 Setup Wizard made by Google?) looks like a low quality jpeg (see screenshots). I tried to wipe everything (every partition availble in recovery), clean install other roms, I even flashed kdz KitKat - then eveything looked OK until the Google Play app updated and issue came back. What can cause this? There must be something that survives wiping data, cache, system, dalvik and internal memory. I tried roms without gapps (unfortunately in cm13 the setup wizard wifi screen is probably from google as it is buggy too). Only thing I can think of when it started is that I added my debit card in Google Play and bought Titanium Backup Pro. But the issue shouldn't be connected with my account as even setup wizard wifi screen is buggy (without gapps or without logging to my account).
Other thing is bluetooth, which after about a week from installation starts to turn itself on (happens on nightlys and snapshots). I wake my device and see bluetooth icon. At first it just blinks and disappears, but as the time passes, it shows up and stays.
In my opinion it is something about payment and bluetooth/nfc chip (as I remember it all started after I added my debit card in Google Play).
In KitKat after fresh kdz flash, a message popped up saying something about a reached number of apps and something about payment and using Android payment...
In the screenshot you can see how the icons in Google Play look like these are compressed. The same happens in cm13 wifi setup screen (the buildings with yellow wifi symbol on the top) - I don't have a screenshot and I don't want to factory reset my phone again... I have enough.
Use "view full image" to see what I'm talking about.
It is all weird. I will appreciate every advice and help.

Which verizon phones have svlte?

Had to return my most recent phone for an unrelated reason. But I had a galaxy S5 from verizon that had svlte. It would let me make calls and use data without being connected to wifi. Phones like the G4 and note edge do not support this. And using advanced calling feature under settings is not an option for me since I use a straight talk sim card in the phone and verizon refuses to give access to advanced calling unless you're on a contract account. But yeah so I'm in the market for a different phone. And would like to know if anyone knows of a good list of phones out there for verizon 4g capable that support the svlte. I know there are other phones that have the VOLTE and the SVDO but I don't fully understand them. But I do understand that the s5 with the svlte did what I wanted it to do. And I know a LOT of the newer phones don't have the dual radio to support this. So yeah anybody know of a good list of phones? Because it seems this is either really hidden or not available knowledge on the internet.

551ml Bricked after updating to new offical MM build. (help pls)

Hello guys, I noticed this morning that MM was officially released today. I followed the steps on to update my phone. I downloaded the rom for 551ml put it on my root of my internal storage, after that a pop up showed that there was a system update. I did the update and now my phone wont turn on now. It vibes twice and nothing comes on the screen. I have no idea how to fix it. I was on the latest firmware that system update would give me (184). If someone isn't busy could they possibly help me out. thx..

Lenovo a8-50 A5500 TWRP recovery

I'm a new member in this website and I got redirected here by my friend.

Stock Nexus 5 security updates are dead in a month, right?

Google says they provide security updates for "at least" three years after a device is released, which in the case of the Nexus 5, is October 2016, or about a month from now. I believe they dropped Nexus 4 support right at three years. I'm guessing with Nougat being out, that any updates for non-Nougat devices (Nexus 5) are dead. Anyone have any insight on this?

I'm trying to figure out when to go to a custom ROM or buy a new device, and I'm aggravated because there's zero reason for Google to drop security updates for this device.

Keep root between firmware versions ?

I have a Meizu M3 phone, which can be rooted only in older firmware versions using the "normal" meizu procedures.
As it is very easy to downgrade versions (back to an older "rooteable" one - 5.1.4.0), I've made my mind in doing some tests.

I've decide to give a try to flashfire to help me go from a rooted (but older) firmware version into a new version without loosing root:
I've choose the update.zip file of a newer version (5.6.8.30), configured everRoot to inject SuperSU into system and tried 2 approaches:
with and without mounting system R/W.

In both approaches the system is upgraded.
su is available in shell (# sign, after calling it).

But the system is NOT really rooted :( - tools complaining about no root, ES Explorer can't recognize the root, flashfire stays forever waiting for root access, and so on ....
Also, when trying to mount system as RW fails:

su
mount -o rw,remount /system
"Operation not permitted"

I ask the forum for suggestions:
Is there any suggestion with flashfire to help-me update versions without loosing root ?
Alternatively, should I repack update.zip removing both boot.img and recovery.img (editing also the update script) ?

Issues with Super SU

Hey XDA,

So I used Kingroot to root my GT-I9195i (4.4.4).

When I go on SuperSu I get a message that says:

"The SU binary needs to be updated".

I went "continue" and then "normal" way to install the SU binary.

But I keep getting "Installation failed!" and when I click on "how to update" the first method is to install SuperSume which I can't find on the Android store and Method 2 seems too complicated.

Any idea?

Moto E XT1021 Cricket Hard Brick [PayPal Reward][URGENT]

Hello everybody in this forum, I have a problem, I bought my moto e xt1021 from Cricket 1 year ago, I had never gotten any problem with it, since 2 months ago, my phone started to reboot, then I updated it from OTA automatic to 5.1 Lollipop version, and 4 months later the phone gets a hard brick.

My OP3 softbricked. I dont have any back up.Issue in pushing zip file via adb.Help.

My OP3 softbricked. I dont have any internal backup. I am able to access TWRP recovery mode.After googling i found that i need to push zip file to internal memory through ADB file. I tried to push the zip file of orginal ROM's zip file to internal memory via adb terminal after installing respective sdk and usb drivers. But my device is shown as unauthorized.I stuck in this step. Searched for solution and the only solution seems to be enable USB debugging. As the device is bricked, i am not able to enable it. I am able to see the device is listed in device manager. Could any one help me how can i resolve this issue.

Rapidly charging via 9V 1.8A charger

Hello! I've bought LG's MCS-H05EP travel adapter (like this one http://ift.tt/2bVG6Tu) which is sold with USB A to USB Type-C cable. On the adapter it is written 9V at 1.8A or 5V at 1.8A. The stock adapter goes for 5V at 3A which activates the rapid charging. So, I was quite surprised that the rapid charging also gets activated (and the device charges as fast as it does with the stock adapter) using the MCS-H05EP travel adapter. Here http://ift.tt/1HezzzM it is said that "The input voltage range between the wall outlet and this charger is AC 100V–240V, and the charger's output voltage is DC 5V, 3A." So, I'm kinda concerned whether the 9V@1.8A output from the custom adapter could damage the battery.

Install CM13 on a chinese i9105p

Hello Everyone,
I have a chinese i9105p on hand. Nearly all aftermarket roms ask for a 4.2.2 stock before "install proper/newest recovery", however, the highest stock version for a china i9105p is 4.1.2. And it seems impossible to use 4.2.2 roms from the other region. Odin just refuse to flash. I tried flash CM13 and remix directly with cwr4.0.3.2(the version work with android 4.1.2), after flashing the phone goes to reboot loop or stuck at the loading logo.

The missing of 4.2.2 stock rom should not be a limitation. There are no 4.2.2 stock for i9100 at all. And CM13 works for i9100. From there I found out that they upgrade the kernel at the same time when installing recovery.

So I extract the boot.img for a 4.2.2-I9105PXXUBMI1 stock, extract the recovery.img from twrp/cwr, combine the two into a new tar file. Flash with odin. Reboot to recovery. Stuck on loading logo again.

Could some expert help to make a workable recovery which includes the proper kernel already? It should also be useful for the other 4.1.2 users who want cm13, we can direclty flash the recovery and update, instead of download and odin the 4.2.2 stock for a intermediate step now.

Or any other solution to make cm13 work on chn i9105p with the absence of 4.2.2 chn stock?

Replacement LCD and digitizer combo

I pick this one up for $100 from Best Buy when it was first released I think I was on a pre-order and I used it for about a month and I loved it for the price but I must have cracked the screen somewhere and I sent it in for warranty replacement because the phone will turn on ring and be usable except the screen will not turn on. I finally heard back from the warranty company and they told me that the screen is cracked and was not covered so I've been looking around for a place on screens all over the Internet for this phone and it's Chinese equivalent the Gionee elife s Plus and I can't find any. From what I've been able to ascertain there is a screen and digitizer combo that's pretty hard to separate or fix one or the other. Does anyone have a resource to find replacement parts for other possible other phones that use the same screen or digitizer that I can use in here?

Need help identifying strange button overlay on S5

I recently noticed 3 strange buttons on the upper left corner of my S5 that I cannot press and stay overlaid over everything...they are a "Pause", "Ex", and "Setting" cog wheel...I cannot take a screenshot of the issue because the screenshot only captures everything below this overlay, so I had to take a picture of my phone with another phone to post an example...it's incredibly hard to see in person as is (I just barely noticed it when there was a color shift while using another app) so apologize for how difficult it is to see in the picture...does anyone have any idea what app or system feature is causing this? Is this malicious in design? How do I disable it?

Nexus or any ither android phone?

Just a question.
I had been thinking a lot about this lately. I have P8 Lite, and although it is a decent phone and about a year old, it seems to me that it is already obsolete in comparison to other devices.
I am writing this thread here, cause I have this phone, and I guess many of might be anxious about whether we get the N-update.
So my question is: Is it worth buying an android manufacturer-branded phone (LG, Samsung, Huawei, etc) or a Nexus phone, since we know that these phones (Nexus) are the ones that would be supported the most from the developers and get much more updates than the others?
I am totally thinking about buying a Nexus.
What do you think.

Additional Symbols option grayed out

Hy all,

Just received Exynos variant, updated to BHP6, and now the Additional Symbols option is grayed out in keyboard settings. Cannot enable additional symbols at all, but the option is there. Did anyone encountered that?

I also did a factory reset, and after setting up the account, option is still grayed out.

Any ideas?

YouTube App not playing videos

YouTube App is perfectly working, but Video is not playing in the App.
YouTube in browser is perfectly streaming fast, but not in App.
The Video is not even starting in YouTube App, but MX player is perfectly playing videos.
On playing a Video, it says that "There was a problem while playing, Tap to retry".
On tapping it constantly say the same.

I tried restarting, reinstalling. May I know what may be the reason for this problem...

Question about Decrypted Data

i recently decrypted my 5x via fasboot. before i decrypted, i ran a backup with twrp (system, boot, data), which means i am still encrypted in the process, then rebooted in bootloader to decrypt. after it was decrypted, i restored the data from twrp. the question is wouldnt the data that was restored be encrypted? because before i decrypted, the data is encrypted. :confused: :confused:

Has anyone been able to flash a Note 7 Rom port from one of the other snapdragon Note 4's (for example G/F variants)? I've been able to flash a Note5/S7 Rom (F variant) succesfully w/ data on the sprint network, though I haven't been able to get data on any Note 7 Port roms :p

I have go a Lgh440n spirit it was on the 3 network uk but couldn't afford to pay my bill because lost my job anyway I think they have blacklist my iemi or something ? it will not connect to any networks with other simcards ? when I try 2945#*440# any part of the menu it says (this phone is permanently locked and can not be unlocked ) it would be great if someone can help fix it and how do I get the phone to enter diag mode ??

I made a modified version of Samsung's Good Lock for my Galaxy S6 ROM. But I decided to provide it as broken-out apk files and TWRP-flashable zip, so that it can be used by anyone being in charge of a Good-Lock-compatible device and ROM.

So what's different compared to original Good Lock?

Getting a new HU

Hi all,

I recently bought a Cheap Chinese HU, but im not that happy with it, so im loking for another one.

Features i wish to have:

-Designed for the VW format
-Custom Roms
-Seperated Subwoofer output
-2 gig Ram if its possible.
-No disturbing noises
-"fast" boot
-Bluetooth audo
-Good working wireless
-Spotify should be running good( maybe can i set this as standart app, so everytime i boot the HU up, it should automaticly start(its just a nice to have))


I really dont give much about radio, so it doesent matter if that dont work well...

I hope someone can help me to choose the right one.

Unlock and flash cm13 questions.

Hey everyone,
Got permission to unlock bootloader few days back, but cant unlock due to error at 50%(account different or something like that). According to some users i should wait a few days to try it again. (Already tried i.mi.com trick with no luck)
Next, i want to flash latest snapshot of cm13 official, but apparently certain fp sensors(goodix) doesnt work there. And i saw there is Santosh unofficial cm13 build with goodix fix. So how do i found out which sensor i have? So i can flash a cm13 build which is sure to work. Also,is it true led notification has no breathing in cm13?

[HELP] I just lost all my contacts

I just got a new sim card and after replacing the old one, I cut it in peaces and threw into the trash bin. Few moments later I realised I f*cked up... All my contacts were on the old sim card and google contact synch was off. My phone is fully rooted, maybe I can restore at least some of the contacts from cache or something? Some of them were really important. Please help :(

[Guide] Android 7 writable system partition (fix for adaway, and other system apps)

So with Android 7 there seems to be a change in the way the system partition works and I tried a ton of ways to make my /system partition as writable. I tried an app, I tried terminal commands, and I tried a root file explorer. Nothing working; adaway wouldn't work without systemless zip flash. Emoji Switcher was also not working.

Well I found a fast and simple solution! :D

Install busy box and a terminal app
- Install busy box on system
- Open terminal app
- Run "su" (no quotes)
- Give the terminal app root access
- Then run "busybox mount -o rw,remount system" (no quotes)
- You should get no errors; it will actual do nothing, it will just go to the next line.

Now test that bad boy out and your system partition should be writeable. No more host errors in adaway!

[All ROMS] Problem with sound, dialer, video and sound payback, battery, heating.

Hello, I'll give you all info about the situation.
Its i9505.
There is no sound at all, dialer is VERY VERY laggy and when I manage to dial a number, it just stucks (see photo), it wont play any videos or any music tracks from any web sites or internal memory, the phone itself gets very hot invery fast time, and battery drains enourmously. Problems appeared all in same time, when the phone was still in the stock 4.3 MKF firmware. At first, I thought it was a software problem. Then I just basically tried factory reset, of course it didnt helped, then I flashed few custom roms, and every time still was the same problems. Maybe some you may call me dumb or something, but I've spent about 15hours searching, downloading, reading and flashing lots of ****, and still didnt get these problems solved. In this point I have CM 13 and CWM. I tried flash back the original rom, but ODIN gives me error <ID:0/003> FAIL! (Auth) , and now, with my head aching so much, I ask you for help. Hope to get some answers soon, thanks a bunch in advance.

Please help! My lcd doesn´t work but touchscreen does

Hi guys! Some weeks ago I dropped my phone and my whole screen cracked, so, I bought a new one and wanted to repair it myself to save some money, you know ^^.
But anyways I put everything back on, but my screen just won´t start. Well it is turning into a dark blue so I guess it actually works.... a bit. But everything else works just fine, if someone calls me I can easly just pick it up and talk, I just have to figure out where the Buttons are :) . It reacts to touch so I guess it´s only the digitizer... Please Help :)

Note 4 essentially "forgetting" to vibrate after a while?

I've verified that the vibration motor is fine because it's working right now as I type this post. However, if I lock my phone and let it sit for maybe 5 minutes, when I pick it up again, it won't vibrate for ANYTHING unless I restart.

This Note is running 6.0.1(PE3 update), is rooted, has TWRP installed, has Xposed installed, and is using the BeastMode kernel w/ the Zerolemon fix.

What's happening almost seems like Android is clearing whatever process runs the vibration motor from RAM.

strange behaviour of Galaxy Note 4

I bought a Note 4 with Android 6.0.1. I do not know if the phone is rooted. The seller told me that it has a problem: sometimes when you turn on the phone it starts normally, everything works, it charges normally, but sometimes it starts with a black screen with the Android robot and a message like "could not do normal reboot" and sometimes does not start at all. I have to take off the battery, wait few minutes, put the battery back, wait 5-10 minutes and then the phone opens normally again. It is a little strange.

I want to install clean Android 4.4.4 without any rooting or custom ROM. Just the original Android 4.4.4. I found the file on samsung-updates.com, but I am a little afraid of doing just a simple resoft with Odin, because I do not know what will happen next. What do you suggest?

No network on G930FD Galaxy s7

I brought G930FD galaxy s7 in Singapore during my deployment. It worked fine with other countries sim card. Now i'm back in US tried to use my phone with Verizon sim card
and it didn't work. I got signal but there is no network connection, only Emergency call pop up for a minute then gone.

I tried to adjust the APN but didn't work. Also my phone kept saying "Refreshing Sim Card" couple times. I did some reseach if it's actually region lock but I couldn't find a straight
answer for it. I wonder if this phone is really region lock. If not then what could be a problem for it?

Yesterday I was flashing Hexagon ROM by Sushant More. Thats why I wiped the Data,System and Dalvik Cache & Cache but after wiping out it showed some errors

Updating partition details...
Error opening: '/data/system/dropbox' (Not a directory)
Error opening: '/data/system/registered_services' (Not a directory)

As Wiping Process is completed there is No OS on my Phone so i cant Reboot it
also when I tried to flash some Zip to test if it is working fine while flashing zip But Unfortunately It showed same error again.. :( :crying:

Pre Rooted fw for the Z5

I am looking for a pre Rooted firmware, downloaded a custom Fw from XperiFirm and thought it'd be Rooted but it wasn't.
So I created a Pre Rooted FW using PRF Creator.
Done that, flashed the rom, using flash tool.
And somehow it didn't work.
So I was just wondering is there any pre Rooted firmwares out there I could download and flash from flash tool.
Also without losing any apps/app data if possible.

Now I want to go back to the global stable rom which is also on the same site.. I tried downloading it and flashing it through the updater app but it says "Couldn't verify package". Proximity sensor disabled while in-call and bluetooth enabled; Galaxy S6 G920F

If I'm wearing my neckbuds and someone calls me with my phone in my pocket, I am prone to adding other people to the call and hanging up, due to the display not turning off, ever. Toggling the bluetooth function inside the call enables earpiece and turns on the proximity sensor again, and turning on speakerphone creates the same situation as with bluetooth enabled.

I've tried multiple apps to resolve this issue, among them "Llama", which configured correctly will turn off the display every time I pick up the phone and bluetooth is enabled. However this turns it off even if I'm actively using the phone and also requires me to unlock the phone via my security pattern due to a third-party app turning off the screen (versus my usual fingerprint unlock).

"On Call Proximity" would've done the trick, had it only worked on my model.

I've tried so many different dialer apps I don't have count of them, and those that do have a replacement for the in-caller look like crap and has pretty limited functionality.

Knox Tripped and Fingerprint Security

This is just a thought I had and I was wondering if there should be any concern.

Where are fingerprints stored on the Galaxy S7 Edge? I assume they are managed and stored by Knox. But, if the phone has been rooted, Knox is permanently disabled even after returning to stock.

Does this compromise the security of saved fingerprints on the device?

What are you going to take after the G4?

Hey guys so this is my last day here at the G4 forum. Ditching my phone for an Oneplus 3.
I Wanted to create a thread where u can share information about your next device and why u leaving the G4.

For me it's clear. I have a sn 506 which thank god never bootlooped. I sent my phone after 12 months of usage in because of crazy screen burn in and they replaced me Motherboard processor and PCB. And it did get worse after that. Phone got unusable and the lack of Updates made my choice in direction to the OP3.

Nexus Player : Android Nougat : Can't find ADB network setting.

woke up today with the latest Nougat update on my Nexus player and went to go adb install an n64 emulator but can't seem to find the option to adb over the network. Does anyone know if they removed that feature from the latest Android 7.0 update for the nexus player?

[CM13.0 SNAPSHOT] issue with bluetooth

Hello,

After many researches on google I can't find how to solve my issue with the buetooth on my samsung galaxy s4. I have installed the last CM 13.0 snapshot rom (13.0-20160820-SNAPSHOT-ZNH5YAO0J3-jfltexx). To proceed I started with a GS4 with the following ROM I9505XXUHOH2_I9505OXXHOI1_XEF downloaded on sammobile. I did a full wipe to install a new ROM and then I installed the CM ROM. The bluetooth was ok at the beginning (around 3 days after) and now the BT is OK. When I restart my phone it turns ON but after severals hours the bluetooth crashes (without any warning). If I try to put it ON again it turns OFF automatically after few seconds. The only solution is to restart the phone to recover it.

I tried the bluetooth during one day without any issue when the GPS is OFF maybe this can help

For information I have no issue with the samsung ROM.

[Watchmaker] Animated Eye watchface

HI guys I wanted to share this watchface I made. Is for watchmaker so you can modify it if you want. I made it for the LG watch R but should be compatible with the 360 (I think).


It looks better on the watch than in the screenshot!

The eye move based on inclination of the watch and then center itself again.

Dinamic info:
Wifi: only appears if wifi is enabled on the phone.
Battery indicator: Its only visible when is lower than 25% and it will increment its visibility based on power left. (appears left of the date)

Buttons:
Pressing the hour open google keep.
Pressing wifi icon position opens google fit.
Pressing Battery icon position open alarm.

KNOW BUG:
Date format is day/month/years (for some reason cannot find how to display month with leading zero) to fix that I added the name of the month at the end.

How to find out which script is starting doubletap to wake gesture in options menu?

Hello guys

I need small help.

I have Zopo china-phone. In the options menu, there is "Smart wake" option which enable double tap to wake and other gestures. It works fine, but I need to find where is located the script which is enabling this option. I need it because of tasker.

So, any ideas how to find where this script could be located?
The only thing I could find is in screenshot

[feature request] auto change the TV refresh rate (Hz) to match the video (FPS)

hi guys, as a long time user of mx player pro i'd love to make use of it on my nvidia shield android tv as well. however, since nvidia implemented the ability for apps to change the TV refresh rate (Hz) to match the video (FPS) a couple of updates ago, it looks like mx player missed the boat in this respect to "competitors" like kodi, plex and archos :-/

please see below settings screens of both kodi / spmc and archos player (i could add plex settings as well if that helps) - I'd really love to see this option in mx player as well - many thanks!

Phone connection dropping to 2g

Today I received my 2nd sim card. Both of my cards are using the same network, both are capable of LTE, but they are from different carriers. My problem is that the data sim switches to 2g way too often and stays there. I can manually switch from 4g to 3g in the options, which solves the problem temporarily. After a few minutes, it may just switch to 2g again.
I am not sure if this problem is related to using dual sim, but I am pretty confident the times I used my older card for mobile data, thus not connecting to my Wifi, this was not the case. Currently, with both sims inserted into the phone, they behave the same if I switch data service around.
Is this a common issue?

Noob questions about Rooting

Trying to root my first device. SM-J100VPP
I can gain root access but not permanently for this one yet. If I reboot root checker comes up negative.
I heard most lollipop roms these days have a root access switch in settings? If I were to flash a ROM with that while I had root access, then reboot, would that rom still be there and with a functional root access switch in settings? I ask because some changes I made with root are still there without root.
Again, noob question. Thanks in advance?
Then again, I don't think theres a working custom recovery for Galaxy j100vpp yet. Been following a thread that might be able to do it though. I would need that right?

All my sensors stopped working at the same time!!

The situation is this, i try to change my phone to efs partition, i changed and after some weeks i decided get back to ext4, but during this procedure, the partitiol table got corrupted/broken, so everytime i flashed a rom it was good but on recovery, the data partition shows an error on log, when it booted, i noticed that my sensors stopped working, rotation screen brightness controller, among others, i had no other option than restore to stock, and i did, but my sensors keep not working, and i already flash the 5.0 and 6.0.1 and the result is the same, isnt suppost a rom include the sensor drivers?
Im 100% sure it isnt a hardware problem, please if anyone could help me i would be very gratefull, thanks

9505 screen doesn't work, only little bit of image flash when battery is removed.

My 9505 suddenly stopped displaying image although the phone still boots. Only time i am able to see anything is when i remove the battery while its turned on, it flashes a frame for a second and that's it...
What i tried:

-Completely cleaning the motherboard although the phone was never water damaged.
-Heating the board with hot air gun several times
-Holding the power button for minute after removing the battery and other simple tricks found on youtube...
Is there any chance of recovering this phone ?:confused:

More i9505 modem firmware questions

Hello Again

I created a thread about my planning to update my i9505 (CM11 / XXUFNC4) to CM13 with Heimdal for the firmware flashing and TWRP for the CM flashing.

I am getting the relevant files prepared now and I have some additional questions :)

1. I started by getting XXUHO2J from Sammobile. It is 1.5GB in size. It has yet to complete downloading due to the size but does anyone know what makes it so much bigger than modem firmware found here which the combined download is only 61MB.

2. Sammobile has firmware broken down by country / provider (though many have the same name) while the XDA page just seems to have a generic firmware. Are the XXUHO2J on sammobile for different country / provider different or just the same?

3. Is it better to do with Sammobile firmware or the XDA ones

any recomendations for a smart flip phone on tmobile network

hello my friends... i haven't been on this site in a long time...but i need some more advice on a particular subject....smart flip phones....

i have my eye on a smart flip phone that i like but it is only available out side of the us. he phone i'm talking about is the LG Ice Cream Smart. i only have one problem... i don't know if the phone is compatible with T-Mobiles 4G-LTE network (from some sources only band 4?)

i like the idea of a flip phone because of the fact that the screen is harder to break/ scratch. and i like the fact that it is a flip phone... (i like the Nintendo 3DS a lot) and for its specs it is pretty cheap.

i would be open to suggestions of other smart flip phones that have at least Android 4.4 on it (so i can still play Pokemon go) and is compatible with t-mobiles 4g-lte

[QUESTION] A few questions regarding apps, tcp algos and general root management.

Hello people, i have an xperia e single sim and i rooted it a week ago flashed custom ROM and now i'm starting to delve into the innards of my phone lol. :cyclops:
I have a handful of questions.

1)- First and foremost, i'm trying to use link2SD for moving my apps from the internal storage to the external card. But i can't find any info about how to actually use link2SD to move apps, not the 'how to setup your ext sd card for linking', there are two options when i try to link any app, 1). Move to SD card and 2). Create link.
Now the thing is, why would i want to move an app to the "internal SD card" when i created a second partition on my external microSD?? If that was what i wanted i would have used the phones inbuilt system for that! :confused: And also, link2SD was trying to move an unmovable game "Infinity Loop".
Nothing happens when i try to create a link. is it like creating a shortcut?
How to properly move an app to the external storage? Is it possible to move any "user" app to the microSD? I want all my games and google bloatware on my external "microSD".

2)- I read this thread and set my cpu freq, governor and i/o scheduler. But i can't find any TCP congestion algorithms except cubic and reno. I am using "pimp my rom" for this purpose and i wanted to use "westwood" algo. How?
Any additional tips and tweaks i could try to get the most out of my device? and battery too. :p

3)- The SU app on my phone seems outdated and i was thinking that i switched to chainfire's latest SU. Is it possible? I won't touch the SU app without knowing.

4)- Any good and light apps/tools for a rooted phone? I currently have (ES explorer, AFWall, Link2SD, F-Droid, Pimp my ROM, Viper4Android FX)

Galaxy S5 Plus (SM-G901F) losing mobile signal and gps after Marshmallow update

After updating to Android 6.0.1, the phone is randomly losing mobile and gps signal. It happens about 30-40 times a day, especially when moving around, like driving . Almost every time I look at my phone, I see "No service, network not found" or "gps lost" messages. After about 10 seconds, the signal comes back and everything is ok again. Very annoying and impossible to use navigation apps, like Waze and Google Maps. I have made a soft reset, a hard reset, wiped all data and cleared the phone cache, checked and cleaned the Sim card. Nothing helps. Before update the phone worked brilliantly. Also noticed, that the signal won't drop when using wifi, the problem occurs only when data connection is on. And I'm not the only one, I have 2 friends with the same phone and the same problem. Looks like a software issue. Can somebody help?
PS. I'm from Estonia, and the software version is G901FXXU1CPE1/G901FBAL1CPE1

Stuck at Samsung Logo Tmobile Note II (T889)

Hello ! All
Couple of days ago my phone shutdown while it was on 7 % . from then whenever I try to charge or connect. It shows me SamsungNote II logo or when I pull the battery out and put it back and connect the cable it shows me empty battery logo (inside it refresher circling).

What I have done so far......
Factory Reset (Vol up /Home/Power)
I tried to reset to factory as soon as I select delete all data and select yes it restarts and back to Samsung Logo......

Download Mode (Vol Dwn /Home/Power)
I can get into Download Mode but It doesn't show up in the odin...my other note II pops up but not this phone.

Changing Ports/Cables
I have changed ports/Cables but nothing worked , other Note 2 I have picked every cable/port ...

Led Lights : I dont see any lights flashing .......

losing 30% -40% battery overnight?

I was just wondering what is the normal battery drain amount, I can barely seem to get a day out of the battery... Last night I put it in airplane mode and theatre mode and it made no difference in battery, it went about 30% over 8 hours. During the day it's ever worse. I get anywhere from 7 to 15% battery drainage per hour. Somedays I can barely make it the entire day. Do I have a defective unit? what are you guys getting in terms of battery use in your watches. I have the latest android 6.0.1 and android wear 1.5.0.3044569 Build number M1D63G.

Some Basic things u need to Know before Porting

The rom which you want to port for your device is named here as PORT
The rom which is already working for your device is called here as BASE

First unpack system.new.dat in both port and base rom

For Ubuntu

4. Copy 00banner in system/etc/init.d from port to base

5. Now open build.prop in both base and port for editing rom version and other things.It is different in different roms. For CM edit
ro.cm.version=
ro.cm.releasetype=
ro.modversion=
ro.cmlegal.url=
ro.cm.display.version=
ro.config.notification_sound=
ro.config.alarm_alert=
ro.config.ringtone=

Note: You have copy the above lines from port to base. Don't forget to add your device name in place of port rom's device name

6. Copy these files in system/lib from port to base I repeat from port to base
libandroid_runtime.so
libandroid_servers.so
libmedia_jni.so

For AOSP based ROMs other library files are also needed for boot up. For example Dirty Unicorn needs
libgui.so
libsurfaceflinger.so
libsurfaceflinger_ddmconnection.so
libwifi-service.so

If you are porting a 64 bit ROM copy these files in system/lib64 from port to base

7. Unpack boot.img of both base and port rom and open environ.rc. Copy and replace all the lines starting from "bootclasspath" from port rom's environ.rc to base rom's environ.rc and repack boot.img . Use Android Image Kitchen for unpacking and repacking boot.img

8.Now we need to compress the base rom

For Ubuntu

Downgrade possibility for the LG G5 H850

Hello!
Is it possible to downgrade the LG G5 (H850 from Orange Romania) from a newer FW to an older one? Currently i'm on V10a and i'm trying to get used to the battery life so i wish to know what my options are in case i decide to update and things don't go well. My previous phone was Samsung S5+ (and before that S3) and switching from different FW's was easy.

Help with Systemui.apk Boot loop [Pendopad 7] [Allwinner A33]

Hi ,
So I got a pendopad 7 from dodo car insurance promotion and while I was trying to remove kingroot and replace with supersu , I think something went wrong and now tablet is in a weird state. It boots up to show nothing but if press and hold power button I can see option to turn off the tablet. I am assuming its something to do with systemui.apk , I was wondering if there is a way to fix it without rom install as I dont have any backup or the image to restore this tablet.

NEWBIE - Tablet S slow and almost useless -- will this cure it?

Ive got a Table S that is now almost useless.. keeps crashing the browser and running really slow.
I have been on the verge of dumping it in the bin for a while now..

I see on the FAQ there is talk of updates and installing files.

If I do this, and do it right, will this make the Tablet S some way usable again?

Issues accessing the external SD card for some apps

Guys, sorry to ask this, but I have some issues with some apps when they try to write something to the microSD card........for example: Titanium Backup says that any destination folder in the microSD is not writable.....
I´ve just rooted my phone with shoey63 assistance so I´m using the latest recovery, MM 291 with latest SU version.
In the particular case of TB, I had to do this trick to make it work:
In TB, go to Preferences -> Backup Folder Location.
Click on Storage provider at the top (it's not obvious that it's clickable).
Click on DocumentProvider storage. That will take you to a File Manager interface. You may have to click on the 3-dot menu on the top-right to enable the (external) SD card to be shown, then click the menu lines in the top-left and select your SD card, and click the "Select" at the bottom right. (You don't have to select your Titanium Backup folder here, you're just using this to get access to your SD Card.)
Now you should be back in Titanium Backup and you can browse like you used to to get to your preferred backup folder on your external SD Card

I warn you that using this Document Provider storage is much slower - at least it seems so for me. But, it seems that it's the only way to go for now.

Have the same problem with some other apps that say the microSD card lack of write permissions.
I´ve already flashed the ExtSD_Fix_rw-signed-v2.9b.zip fix a couple of times and the same scenario with RICDefeat.zip without luck.

Does someone could give me a hand with this?

Hi guys:)
I want to see the music duration(how long it is and what exact minute and second it is)in the notifications and the lockscreen is this possible?i am rooted too

Front Camera Button Missing!

My front camera button is got missing for the last 2month, didsony companion repair, did flash LP ftf , now im on MM stock rooted (BL unlocked), and I can see the front cam button apperaing only when I tap on menu, and when I tap on the front cam button, camera stops working! :(

Best rootable AT&T phones at the moment?

I put this in the device suggestion thread, but that doesn't seem to get a lot of eyes, so I'm hoping I can get a bit more of a response here.

My S4 is dying, so I need to replace it this week. Unfortunately, root is a big priority (TB and Xposed), and good, rootable AT&T phones seem extremely few and far between anymore. The S7 root looks like a minefield, but the Note7 root might be usable? Does anyone know of any other good, rootable phones on AT&T at the moment that I must be overlooking?

Need help with Chinese emoticons on Samsung galaxy S7 * NOTE 7 PORT

So i have this NOTE 7 PORT on my S7.
And i would like to get the Note 7 keyboard back, i just updated the rom i use and now it's gone..

i want the Chinese emoticons back on my phone and i don't want to download a 3 party app for this, i know this is part of the samsung keyboard...
